How to integrate MagNews into Magento 2

The module to install the MagNews connector for Magento provided features this structure:

The package provided will be magnews-1.3.0.zipper, after unpacking it you need to copy the MagNews folder inside app/code and then run the commands

php bin/magento module:enable MagNews_QueryService (getting a confirmation message)

Then perform

  • php bin/magento setup:upgrade
  • php bin/magento setup:di:compile
  • php bin/magento cache:clean

How to integrate MagNews into Magento 1

The MagNew module for Magento 1 is given as compatible for versions

  • 1.7.x
  • 1.8.x
  • 1.9.x

 

The form can be downloaded from the MagNews website or can be requested from the MagNews support service

The integration module for Magento 1 is completely free.

After downloading the plugin to connect MagNews to Magento 1 you can install it through an FTP client.

The plugin, once unpacked, will present this structure

The "app" folder will need to be dragged into the root of your Magento 1.

Before installation, it is always recommended

  • Putting the site under maintenance;
  • Disable the cache;
  • Disable compilation;

After installing the MagNews plugin you need to access the backend because server create

  1. Create a "webservice" user;
  2. Create a "webservice" role

To do this, after logging into your Magneto 1 with administrator user, you need to click on

System -> Web Service -> SOAP/XML-RPC -> Roles.

In the first tab choose

  • role name

and to confirm you need to enter your administrator password

The created role "magnewsapi" (a name we randomly chose) needs to be assigned which resources/settings MagNews can access.

We hypothesized assigning a role with full access to all functionalities

After creating the settings access role we need to create a WebService user.

System -> Web Service -> SOAP/XML-RPC - Users

You have to choose

  • Username to be associated with the user (essential to connect Magneto 1 to Magnews)
  • Name
  • Last name
  • email address
  • Password for your administrator account to confirm the changes made
  • Api Key (essential for connecting Magneto 1 to Magnews)

 

In the "User Roles" tab, you need to associate the newly created account with the previously created role

After this configuration is complete, you will need to complete the connection in your MagNews account.
